Land worth 400 crore, was released after a long legal battle
Ratlam 16 February 2023 / Today the government has got back the ownership of the valuable land located in Ratlam, in the heart of the city. About two and a half hectares of land in Survey No. 87 was illegally occupied by the North India Church Trust for years, stating that it was their land, for which a case was filed against the government by them in the Honorable High Court and the Honorable District Court. In the above case, the Government side had firmly presented its stand.
On February 13, the Hon’ble Court rejected the claim of the trust, declaring the land in question as government land. After this, on February 16, taking a major action to remove the encroachment, the district administration has taken possession of the land of 7-8 houses including the ruined hospital, OPD building located in the entire campus area.

The 33 residents who had obtained a stay order from the Hon’ble High Court have not been interfered with in any way. The estimated market value of the encroachment-free land has been estimated at around Rs 350 to 400 crores.
The drive to remove the encroachment started at 6 in the morning and continued till 2 in the afternoon. In this campaign, 3 Poklen, 4 JCB, 4 trucks and many tractors of the Municipal Corporation were used. Apart from the revenue staff, about 150 officers and employees of the Police, Municipal Corporation, Home Guard and Electricity Department actively participated in this joint campaign.
